"THE OTHER SISTER" SOUNDTRACK DEBUTS TWIN SINGLES
FROM SAVAGE GARDEN AND THE PRETENDERS

Disc features other new tracks from Joan Osborne, "Sister" star Juliette Lewis, "Sister" composer Rachel Portman, and more

Hollywood Records announces the release of the original soundtrack to Touchstone Pictures' romantic comedy "The Other Sister," starring Juliette Lewis, Diane Keaton, Tom Skerritt, and Giovanni Ribisi and directed by Garry Marshall ("Pretty Woman," "Beaches"), one of Hollywood's most respected writers, producers, and directors. The album and film will be preceded by two new singles and videos: Savage Garden's "The Animal Song," and the Pretenders' "Loving You Is All I Know."

The uniquely creative soundtrack album for "The Other Sister" is highlighted by never-before-released songs recorded by Savage Garden, the Pretenders, Joan Osborne, and the film's star, Juliette Lewis, plus the film's poignant score theme by Academy Award®-winning composer Rachel Portman. Rounding out the soundtrack album are six additional songs from Alison Krauss & Union Station, the Soup Dragons featuring Junior Reid, Fastball, the Lemonheads, Paula Cole, and Idina Menzel.

One of the album's first singles and video clips is "The Animal Song," by Savage Garden, the hit-making Australian duo behind the quadruple-platinum debut album "Savage Garden," which has yielded the No.1 hit "Truly, Madly, Deeply" and their most recent Top 40 single, "To the Moon and Back." The Brisbane group made music history last year as the first artist to sweep Australia's ARIA Awards, scoring 10 wins. They are nominated for three awards in this year's 12th annual ARIA Awards, including Best Group and Highest-Selling Australian Album.

The Pretenders' new song and video clip, "Loving You Is All I Know," written by Grammy and Academy Award-nominated songwriter Diane Warren, continues a winning tradition of original-soundtrack recordings by this legendary British band led by American-born Chrissie Hynde. Following the group's huge multi-platinum success with "Brass in Pocket," "Back in the Chain Gang," "Middle of the Road," "Don't Get Me Wrong," "I'll Stand by You," and many more hit singles, Ms. Hynde and company also hit big with original recordings from the motion picture "G.I. Jane": "Goodbye" and "The Homecoming."

In this uplifting and often bittersweet romantic comedy, 24-year-old Carla Tate (Juliette Lewis) is a slightly mentally challenged young woman, who after years of special education at a private boarding school has successfully transcended many of her limitations -- except those posed by her overprotective mother, Elizabeth (Diane Keaton).

When Carla graduates and returns home with dreams and ambitions, her need for personal fulfillment begins to express itself in ways her mother is unable to accept. When she falls in love for the first time, Carla defies her mother in order to prove that despite all appearances she has the capacity to be a responsible adult, worthy of loving and being loved.

Embarking on a personal journey of self-discovery, Carla and her boyfriend, Danny (Giovanni Ribisi), set out together to face some of life's toughest challenges, and to prove that sometimes an ordinary life can be an extraordinary achievement, in Touchstone Pictures' "The Other Sister."
