Miramax/Hollywood Records proudly serves up the cocktail music soundtrack of SWINGERS, the Miramax film from director Doug Liman, featuring star and screenwriter Jon Favreau and co-star Vince Vaughn. The SWINGERS soundtrack album splashes into stores nationwide on October 22. Like ice-cold martinis and filterless Camels, the SWINGERS soundtrack will go straight to your head. The original soundtrack album is an intoxicating concoction mixing cocktail music obscurities, jukebox classics, and original new instrumental grooves by the hep L.A. combo, The Jazz Jury. The SWINGERS soundtrack swings open its doors with the Dean Martin classic "You're Nobody "Til Somebody Loves You," chased by Love Jones' snappy "Paid For Loving," and "With Plenty Of Money And You" by Count Basie and Tony Bennett. Drop another quarter in the Rock-O-La and you get Louis Jordan's "Knock Me A Kiss," Roger Miller's "King Of The Road," George Jones' "She Thinks I Still Care," Average White Band's "Pick Up The Pieces" and Bobby Darin's "I'm Beginning To See The Light." To put even more sizzle behind the swizzle, King Floyd dishes up "Groove Me," Joey Altruda cooks with "Mucci's Jag MK II" and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy brings it home with "I Wan'na Be Like You," "Go Daddy-O" and "You & Me & The Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)." The disc also features The Jazz Jury in their major label debut, presenting "Wake Up," "Pictures," and "Car Train." SWINGERS is a story told in the language of the "cocktail nation," a '90s retro-Swing movement that's sweeping the country. A comedy that's honest, outrageous and not even one jitterbug step removed from reality, SWINGERS follows a close group of friends looking for love in some of Hollywood's hippest back-alley night spots -- joints like the Derby and the Dresden Room, where you'd better look "money" if you want to get "digits." Capturing the retro passion for perfectly creased pants and old muscle cars, SWINGERS is a hilarious ode to friendship, bar-hopping and love. It's a glimpse behind the scenes at what men do when they're alone: talk about women and commiserate about their rotten luck. Miramax presents SWINGERS, directed by Doug Liman and written by and starring Jon Favreau. SWINGERS also stars Vince Vaughn, Ron Livingston, Patrick Van Horn, Alex Desert and Heather Graham. An official entry in this year's Venice, Toronto, and Telluride film festivals, SWINGERS is produced by Victor Simpkins and Nicole La Loggia. It was co-produced by Jon Favreau, associate produced by Brad Schlei and Avram Ludwig, SWINGERS was executive produced by Cary Woods. |
